Cyber Operational Technology – Assistant Manager
Base Location: Hybrid/UK based (core office is flexible) network of 20 offices nationally.

This role is crucial for the growth of KPMG UK’s Cyber Security Services, providing expertise to help clients securely design and deploy industrial control systems and operational technology. You will work alongside collaborative colleagues in an environment that promotes learning and development.
What will you be doing?
* Providing OT ICS Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation Services to help clients identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
* Collaborating with KPMG’s OT team and wider Cyber Security capabilities to develop solutions, delivery models, and marketing strategies to enhance market coverage, focusing on strategy, asset discovery, vulnerability review, risk assessment, change management, continuous monitoring, and OT product implementation.
* Offering ad-hoc OT (ICS, SCADA, IIoT) expertise, advising on design, build, and implementation of industrial control security solutions.
* Building internal relationships across KPMG’s UK Cyber and Technology Services and global firms to bring innovation to clients.
* This role may involve international travel.
What will you need to do it?
* Knowledge of industrial systems such as OT, IIoT, or industrial robotics from engineering, cybersecurity, or risk management perspectives.
* Understanding of network architecture, capable of creating network diagrams for industrial automation and control.
* Experience with Security Standards and Best Practice Guidelines implementation.
* Awareness of IT/OT security trends and vulnerabilities.
* Flexibility, quick learning, and adaptability.
* Good time and task management skills.
* Strong communication skills, able to tailor messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills we’d love to see / Amazing Extras:
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or similar.
* Experience with SCADA, DCS, PLC, EMS, and related communication protocols like TCP/IP, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, PROFINET.
* Interest or experience in cyber security regulations such as NIS, standards like IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO27001.
* Experience leading high-quality work.
* Ability to develop strong relationships internally and with clients.
* Experience in critical national infrastructure or industrial sectors like energy, water, transportation, smart cities, manufacturing.
