The Job
To take a proactive role in collecting outstanding monies from overdue debtors. Providing a high level of customer service, ensuring customer queries are resolved effectively and efficiently. Playing a key part in the achievement of departmental targets.
* Take ownership for your own ledger of customers, conducting a high volume of outbound calls to ensure payments are made in a timely manner to aid the reduction in overdue debt
* Manage the full end to end credit control process from account opening, query resolution, allocation of payments and timely chasing of payment to ensure bad debts are minimised
* Complete all tasks assigned to you to a high standard and within the specified timeframes
* To deliver excellent service to customers by understanding their needs, providing recommendations with integrity, and delivering first rate solutions
* To be able to prioritise and multitask to consistently achieve personal targets and assist team members to achieve team success
* Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
* To have excellent analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills
* To actively establish positive working relationships with all team members and adopt a proactive approach to taking on additional responsibilities to support other colleagues and functions across the business
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
Essential
* Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working in a fast-paced credit control environment.
* Ability to adopt a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to unexpected demands.
* Demonstrate patience and empathy.
* Confident IT user, including a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Be a practical problem solver.
Desirable
* 2 years credit control experience
