Responsibilities:
* Support your line manager by providing technical expertise, developing, improving, and maintaining systems, processes, procedures, and process controls using expertise in composite/polymers, engineering problem solving, and six sigma/lean methodologies.
* Research, justify, and implement capital expenditures to improve utilization of working capital.
* Support production and maintenance with troubleshooting and breakdown issues.
* Evaluate rework and reject levels for design, process, and training improvements.
* Implement process and product improvements to positively impact cycle time, costs, and quality.
* Plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout for efficiency and safety.
* Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
* Develop and evaluate equipment and processes for high-quality, cost-effective products.
* Participate in supplier qualification and development.
* Develop corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
* Establish and document manufacturing processes.
* Conduct feasibility reviews, generate assembly instructions, and develop tooling.
* Provide technical training and certification for operators.
* Resolve technical problems affecting quality, manufacturability, delivery, and costs.
* Manage equipment sourcing, installation, and management.
* Ensure compliance with SOPs, health, safety, and quality standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Lean Manufacturing
* Root cause analysis
* Customer satisfaction and operational excellence
Experience:
* Proven track record in fast-paced manufacturing environments
* Experience with change initiatives and continuous improvement
* Proficient in CAD, preferably AutoCAD
Education:
* Degree or equivalent in engineering
Working Environment:
* Use of PPE in designated areas
* Factory-based with travel involved
* Out-of-hours work may be required
* Salary up to £46,000, 24 days holiday + bank holidays, life insurance 4x salary
