Gittings Classic and Modern is a growing classic and modern vehicle repair service based in Bath and North East Somerset. Established in 2023, we have continued to expand our business, and with a new premises lined up, we are seeking a motivated, passionate and hard working individual to join our team as a full-time vehicle technician. We handle all vehicles from the early 20th century, to modern day cars, from quick services to full restorations. A potential start date will be late August/early September 2025.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Classic Car Vehicle Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge of classic vehicles, modern vehicles is also helpful, as well as a passion for maintaining vehicles, rising to a challenge and working as an effective team member. This role requires experience of using a range of motor mechanic equipment, various power and hand tools. Good customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with clients to ensure their vehicle needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties
* Repair and maintain classic vehicles.
* Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical issues.
* Carry out vehicle services, health checks, major engine repairs, vehicle restorations/rebuilds, etc.
* Perform repairs, ensuring all work meets safety standards.
* Utilise power tools and hand tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding their vehicle's condition and necessary repairs.
* Assist in heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Requirements
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
* Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment (not essential).
* Effective customer service and communications skills with the ability to relay technical information clearly.
* Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.
* A valid driver's licence is essential.
* 10 years of experience working on classic vehicles (as well as modern vehicles but not essential), all ages, makes and models.
* Welding experience is preferred but not essential.
* Must be able to commute to Midsomer Norton.
* Level 3 onwards vehicle related qualification
