Our client, operating within the procurement and supply chain sector, is currently seeking a Materials Controller (Contract) to support their Connectivity Supply Chain team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all materials required for production are available in the right quantity, at the right time, and accurately recorded in SAP. The successful candidate will play a vital part in daily operational readiness, mitigating shortages, and maintaining stable material flow to support the plant's delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Material Availability
Review daily MRP outputs and ensure material availability to support production plans.
Monitor critical parts, slow-moving inventory, excess, and obsolete stock.
Support stock reduction targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
SAP & System Transactions
Post Goods Receipts (GR), stock transfers, reservations, and stock adjustments in SAP.
Create and track purchase requisitions and delivery confirmations.
Maintain accuracy of material master data, including storage locations, MRP parameters, lead times, and safety stock settings.
Investigate and correct stock discrepancies in collaboration with Warehouse and Finance.
Shortage & Issue Management
Identify and communicate material shortages during daily operational reviews.
Work with Planning, Procurement, and Warehouse to resolve supply constraints.
Escalate risks to the Connectivity Supply Chain Supervisor when production impact is expected.
Follow up on raw material purchase orders and call-off progress to ensure timely delivery to production.
Contribute to root-cause analysis for repeat shortages and propose corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Liaise daily with Production (Connectivity lines), Warehouse, Planning, Quality, and Engineering.
Coordinate with Procurement on call-off timing, delays, or urgent supply requirements.
Attend daily operations meetings to review material readiness and priorities.
Support Engineering changes (ECO/ECN) by coordinating material phase-in/phase-out.
Collaborate with Procurement on delivery issues, supplier delays, and transport bottlenecks.
Prepare and update shortage reports, inventory summaries, and material availability dashboards.
Job Requirements:
Experience in procurement, buying, and supply chain management.
Proficiency with SAP and inventory management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address material availability issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
