Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Thurnscoe
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Thurnscoe. This role involves working closely with pupils to help them manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and engage fully in their learning.
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll provide tailored 1:1 or small group support, assist with behaviour management, and contribute to creating a calm and encouraging learning environment. Your role will be vital in helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and social skills.
Responsibilities as SEMH TA:
* Support pupils with SEMH needs during lessons and social times.
* Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
* Deliver personalised support in 1:1 or small group settings.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff.
* Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs.
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A current CV covering the last 10 years (with any gaps explained).
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
