Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for an Air Export Operator to join their office in Heathrow. Job Summary The Air Export Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing international air freight export shipments from origin to final destination. This role ensures compliance with international shipping regulations, airline requirements, and customer specifications while delivering high levels of customer service and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities 1. Shipment Coordination Arrange and process international air export shipments. Book cargo space with airlines and/or consolidators. Coordinate pickup, warehousing, and airport handling. Monitor shipment status and ensure timely departures. 2. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and review export documentation including: Air Waybill (MAWB/HAWB) Commercial Invoice Packing List Export Declarations (e.g., AES filing) Certificates of Origin (if required) Ensure compliance with customs regulations and export control laws. Verify dangerous goods documentation in accordance with IATA regulations (if applicable). 3. Customer Service Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers. Provide shipment updates and resolve service issues. Advise customers on documentation and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely invoicing and cost control. 4. Carrier & Vendor Management Negotiate and confirm freight rates with airlines and agents. Maintain relationships with carriers, trucking companies, and overseas agents. Coordinate with destination offices for smooth cargo handover. 5. Financial Responsibilities Verify freight costs and approve vendor invoices. Prepare customer billing accurately and promptly. Maintain shipment profitability in line with company targets. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 23 years experience in air export freight forwarding. Strong knowledge of international air freight procedures. Familiarity with IATA regulations and customs requirements. Experience with freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, Descartes). Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
