With the proven ability to identify barriers, understand need and support people to achieve their goals the role will include one to one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, sign posting and engaging people in other provision.
Main duties of the job
Managing a complex active caseload of 40 to 50 people who have experiencedmental health problems and who wish to gain, retain, or return to employment.* Working with clinical teams and MHM staff to identify the best outcomes forclients.* Focussing on the aspirations of the client to keep or obtain good employment,considering their strengths, difficulties, and barriers.* Assessing a client's employment goals and any concerns regarding theircapacity for work, their confidence to perform tasks and any factors that maybe issues for employment. This is to be achieved by using evidence-basedinterventions supporting the individual to develop strategies to address them.* Advocating on behalf of the person with current and prospective employers ifnecessary, aiming to identify work solutions that will overcome or minimisedifficulties within the workplace.* Working with employers to raise their awareness of mental health issuesincluding the effects poor mental health has on absenteeism, presentism andleaveism.* Developing in-depth knowledge of the local labour market, local support andnew initiatives, taking into account the needs of the client to broker effectiveinterventions. Including specialist schemes to help with retaining or findingemployment.* Working closely with local agencies to identify appropriate job vacancies

You will work as part of wider community support teams, including mental health workers, partners, internal colleagues and other agencies. About youYou will have experience of working with Mental Health and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills. This will include supporting people within the employment sector, with knowledge of employment rights and job retention being advantageous. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in delivering results through your assessment, planning and facilitating of activities that focus on recovery and vocational skills. You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role.
