An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established structural steel contractor delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This role offers the chance to take ownership of commercial management across a varied portfolio of steelwork projects within a supportive and experienced team environment.
What you’ll do:
* 📊 Manage all commercial and financial aspects of structural steel projects from pre-contract through to final account
* 💰 Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and project forecasts
* 📑 Carry out valuations, variations, and applications for payment
* 📐 Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure commercial accuracy and compliance
* 📦 Support procurement of subcontractors and materials
* 📈 Monitor project costs and report on financial performance
* 🤝 Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and site teams
* 🧾 Assist with final account preparation and negotiation
You’ll need:
* ✔ Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel or the wider construction industry
* ✔ Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
* ✔ Ability to interpret technical drawings and contract documents
* ✔ Experience with cost control, valuations, and variations
* ✔ Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* ✔ Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* ✔ Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (preferred)
