Role: Infrastructure Backup & Storage Administrator
Location: Wokingham, UK - Hybrid (3 days a week)

Job Description:
Your Responsibilities:

* Candidate must be able to pass National Grid’s background vetting process
Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
* Veritas NetBackup installation, support, and management
* Implementation and management of HP Enterprise Storage (3Par) as well as management across Nimble and NetApp platforms
* Implementation and management of SAN fabrics, switches, and components
* Enterprise storage hardware and software fault resolution in HA critical estates
* Shell script writing
* RedHat Linux v6/7/8/9 experience
* Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 experience
* Networking protocols and topologies
* Strong skills in verbal and written communication, including the writing and reviewing of technical documentation
* Monitoring, backups, and Disaster Recovery
* Candidate must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance
Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
* Monitoring, backups, and Disaster Recovery
* Proven customer-facing experience in an IT service role
* Proven methodical and positive approach to problem-solving
* Experience of working effectively individually or as part of a highly motivated small to medium-sized team in an Infrastructure/Application ITIL-based support environment
* Experience of supporting business-critical real-time systems, ensuring high levels of availability through direct actions
* Demonstration of accountability to see issues through to successful resolutions
* Experience of working in a 2nd line support role; site attendance required
* Experience in technically training and mentoring colleagues would be an advantage
* A desire to expand knowledge into other domains and think outside the box
* Candidate must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance
