People Operations Coordinator

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Coordinator to join our People team. This role is the backbone of our People function—supporting the employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth People processes, and providing excellent employee experience. You'll be the go-to person for day-to-day people queries while helping to deliver projects that strengthen culture, engagement, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage People administrative processes, including generating contracts, background checks, and system set-up
* Maintain accurate employee records on our HR system, ensuring compliance with GDPR and employment legislation
* Prepare letters, contracts, and ad hoc documents
* Coordinate ad hoc out-of-cycle payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
* Ensure timely updates to our HR system
* Assist with payroll preparation by ensuring all changes are captured and processed
* Manage regular reporting for the People team – including weekly starters/leavers and work anniversaries reports
* Be the first point of contact for employee queries, escalating where needed
* Manage first day right to work and other compliance checks
* Assist with ad hoc people reporting, dashboards, and audits

Skills & Experience
Essential
* Previous experience in a People Team or strong administrative background
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills with ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
* A proactive and approachable attitude with a genuine interest in People/HR
Desirable
* Experience with Workday and payroll
* Experience with business process dashboards
* Exposure to immigration processes and right-to-work compliance
* Experience supporting L&D or training programmes
* Understanding of UK employment law and compliance requirements
