Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group are searching for an enthusiastic and energetic individualto join our activities team at our exceptional nursing home Blenham House in Sighthill, Edinburgh. This is an outstanding and rare opportunity working 30 hours per week over 4 days (09.00am - 5.00pm) with alternate weekends on and off and a rota 4-5 weeks in advance. Please note the pay rate at £14.05 p/h is currently under a pay review with likely increase from 1st April 2026. Job Purpose To provide activities for the residents in the nursing home To uphold residents rights to choice, privacy and dignity To communicate information to relevant personnel To keep up-to-date documentation as required by company policies and the regulating bodies To uphold residents participation strategy To promote and show loyalty to the company and residents, both inside andoutside the nursing home and respect confidentiality To treat colleagues with respect and ensure teamwork is good Main Duties & Responsibilities To plan activities, taking into consideration the varying different needs andabilities of the residents To discuss plans with residents, eitherindividually or in groups To seek feedback, comments and suggestions at resident meetings and fromfamilies/visitors To meet regularly with Manager/Deputy to discuss plans and seek advice onfinancial matters To participate in Entertainment Committee meetings to set out longer termplans To communicate with trained nurses/carers re intended activities and write inappropriate place, e.g. diary/communication book To feedback any concerns about residents condition to nursing staff With agreement of senior staff, involve carers in activities Communicate and negotiate outings with minibus driver, ensuring that correctresident : staff ratio is adhered to outside the home To comply with company policies and procedures and adhere to safe workingpractices To adhere to company uniform policy To treat and use all equipment in a safe manner, keeping it clean and in goodworking order To attend staff meetings and training as required To maintain correctly written records as required by the company andstatutory bodies The successful candidate will ideally have a background and experience in planning, organising and leading a programme of activities with any age group, preferably but not essentially with some experience of working with the elderly. This could be from within a care setting or other settings such as the hospitality, education, leisure or entertainment industries.
