Job summary BARTS HEALTH NHS TRUST THE ROYAL LONDON HOSPITAL CONSULTANT IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE FULL TIME Substantive Posts We are delighted to invite applications for a substantive consultant post in Emergency Medicine at the Royal London Hospital. The successful candidates will join a highly motivated, consultant led team delivering high quality emergency care to East London. The department receives a full range of emergencies from the local area, in addition to major trauma from North East London and Essex, with a total of 210,000 urgent and emergency patients seen each year. Our multidisciplinary clinical team includes nurses, technicians, clinical practitioners, and physician associates working alongside resident doctors and consultants. All of our team are dedicated to team well-being and the highest standards in clinical care and patient safety. The department has good working relationships with acute specialities, a friendly working atmosphere, a strong teaching programme and welcomes innovation. The post includes clinical duties across all areas of the department including the resuscitation room, major trauma, major emergencies, injuries, virtual emergency care areas, SDEC and observation medicine for both adult and paediatric patients. Post holders will join a consultant team providing a 24/7 consultant presence ensuring the highest levels of emergency care. The department welcomes applicants with a specialist interest including but not confined to: Ultrasound We are looking to grow our ultrasound programme in the department and those with further qualifications in ultrasound practice, delivery and training would be supported to develop this structure. Medical technology and Clinical AI As AI is transforming our society and environment, we are committed to ensuring that our department invests in the appropriate skills and infrastructure to boost our adoption and productivity with AI. The department is currently piloting the use of ambient AI scribes and use of AI in rostering/allocations and would welcome an individual with this interest. SDEC/EEMAC Our department has a strong Specialty and Emergency SDEC. We have plans to build on this structure to include further pathways for improved UEC delivery.
