Job Description
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective and efficient running of our flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business.
You will be joining a MEICA team helping to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of our crucial assets, enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment. This role will become increasingly important as we face the challenge of global climate change. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world‑class asset management organisation.
The role will provide strong technical leadership to assure technical and design standards. You will monitor quality and advise on the requirements to meet specialist MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across a diverse range of assets.

Team
You will report to the MEICA Team Leader, acting as technical leader on MEICA activity and participating in our response to flood incidents. You will provide technical mechanical support and direction to other team members and liaise with a wide range of business partners, leading on actions on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers.
Experience / Skills Required
* Comprehensive knowledge of engineering related statutory legislation, British and European standards.
* Experience in taking a lead role in safety investigations, identifying and disseminating learning to bring about improvements in engineering and behavioural safety.
* Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis, Reliability engineering and process improvement, Technical Leadership, writing and reviewing technical specifications.
* Educated to a minimum of HNC/D or degree level in a relevant mechanical discipline. An equivalent Level 4 qualification with I‑Eng Professional registration may be considered.
* Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Location & Working Pattern
You can be based at any of the listed locations with occasional hybrid homeworking and visits to alternative sites. Occasional travel is required.
