About the Opportunity:
The Resolute Group is proud to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s most successful and respected infrastructure contractors, supporting them in the appointment of a Senior Engineering Manager to lead all engineering activity on Energy Transmission and Distribution projects across Scotland.
This is a pivotal leadership position, responsible for overseeing all engineering inputs across high-profile frameworks. You’ll manage both internal and external engineering resources and play a central role in growing the capability of the team in line with ongoing project wins and strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Engineering Leadership: Oversee engineering activity during both pre-contract and project delivery stages.
* Team Management: Directly manage a team of Engineering Managers and Senior Design Managers, with further responsibility for expanding and developing the engineering team as the workload grows.
* Resource Planning: Collaborate with operational leadership to ensure all temporary works and design elements are adequately resourced and scheduled.
* Compliance & Governance: Ensure all engineering activity meets project, legislative and regulatory requirements — including CDM regulations and environmental standards.
* Pre-Contract Support: Assist the pre-construction team in identifying design resources, preparing bids, and delivering quality tender submissions.
* Audit & Reporting: Lead internal audits, report on technical standards, and work with compliance teams to ensure records (training, competency, safety) are fully maintained.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an experienced senior engineering professional with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level within a major infrastructure contractor or consultancy environment.
Essential:
* Sector expertise in Energy Transmission and Distribution (T&D) – or broader civil infrastructure with exposure to power or utilities.
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar.
* Strong understanding of relevant UK regulations, standards, and CDM legislation.
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng), ideally through ICE or an equivalent body.
