Electrical Engineer – Mission-Critical Facilities

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Engineer to join a high-performing team in a mission-critical environment. This hands-on role offers exposure across electrical, mechanical, and building systems, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and resilient operations.
You will take ownership of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, work closely with the Shift Leader to maintain system performance, and play a key role in sustaining the operational integrity of plant, equipment, and critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
Deliver PPM, reactive, and emergency maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems in line with contractual requirements.
Monitor, maintain, and report on plant and Building Management Systems (BMS), escalating faults and anomalies promptly.
Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to a high engineering standard.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical plant, controls, and associated equipment.
Respond to Helpdesk requests, resolving reactive issues including HVAC, pumps, valves, pipework, water tanks, and related systems.
Proactively identify and implement preventative maintenance improvements, maintaining excellent site standards.
Support incident management and fault response within secure, business-critical environments.
Assist in training, mentoring, and guiding colleagues on SOPs and EOPs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Technical Expertise
Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of SFG20 PPM schedules (or equivalent) with advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
Hands-on experience with:
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Air Conditioning systems
Heating, ventilation, and cold-water systems
Water treatment
UPS systems and emergency generators
Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams within complex facilities.
Strong background in M&E operations in business-critical client environments.
Authorisations & Environment
HV and LV Authorised Person (AP).
Familiarity with fuelling procedures, HV generation, and control systems.
Experience working in secure or critical environments.
Ability to complete critical environment and scenario-based training.
Desirable Qualifications
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely.
L8 Water Hygiene training.
Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, including PTW and RAMS.
