Overview
We are looking for a Lead Physiotherapist to support patients on the adult wards at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury, and to work with the Professional Lead Physiotherapist on service development. This is a part-time role (30 hours per week).
You will be part of a diverse, supportive multi-disciplinary team and will have responsibility to support physiotherapy assistants and students. You will provide physiotherapy input to the four adult wards at the Whiteleaf Centre, assessing and treating patients with complex long-term neurological conditions, MSK conditions and mobility difficulties. You will support physical activity on the wards alongside the Physical Fitness Practitioner and Physiotherapy Technical Instructors.
This role is eligible for an incentive scheme of £3,500 paid in intervals over an 18-month period. Payments are pro-rata, non-pensionable and subject to a clawback clause. Only employees external to Oxford Health NHS are eligible for this scheme.
Main duties
* Provide physiotherapy assessment, intervention and advice to patients on the adult mental health wards at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.
* Manage and prioritise own caseload.
* Support the multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic care to patients, including formal and informal teaching and guidance.
* Support and lead on audits and quality improvement projects.
* Provide clinical supervision/education to more junior staff and students.
* Ensure safe and appropriate use of mobility and gym equipment.
* Support the development, implementation and evaluation of local protocols and guidelines.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* BSc Physiotherapy
* HCPC Registration
* Experience working as a Band 6 Physiotherapist
* Experience in managing complex patient caseloads and developing management plans based on advanced clinical reasoning
* Experience supervising other staff or students
* Experience working within a MDT
* Experience in audit and service development
Desirable
* Postgraduate study relevant to the role
* Member of a special interest group
* Member of CSP
* MSc or leadership qualification
