Role Overview
This contractual role involves preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced on-site environment, supporting daily operations for a facility serving diverse dietary needs. The position requires adherence to food safety standards, efficient workflow management, and collaboration with a team to maintain service excellence. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and plate meals according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
* Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP or equivalent standards if applicable.
* Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste and adhering to budget constraints.
* Coordinate with dietary staff to accommodate special meal requests for allergies, religious, or medical dietary restrictions.
* Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and report any malfunctions or safety hazards to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Culinary diploma or certificate from an accredited institution, with at least 2 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
* Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe, Food Handler’s Card) and demonstrated knowledge of sanitation protocols.
* Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and industrial mixers, with precision and care.
* Experience working in a high-volume environment, with proven ability to multitask under pressure.
* Strong communication skills to relay dietary instructions clearly to kitchen staff and guests.
