Job details
The successful candidate will support the Quality and Product Safety functions within the three Performance Units (Print, Lamination and Conversion). They will work collaboratively with all internal teams to drive improvements in external and internal complaints and reducing the Cost of Quality.
* To support the Quality and Product Safety functions within the three Performance Units (Print, Lamination and Conversion).
* Working collaboratively with all internal teams to drive improvements in external and internal complaints and reducing the Cost of Quality.
* To actively seek out, plan and deliver quality improvement projects in all performance areas.
* Carry out project work and complaint/suspect investigations.
* Supporting the Quality Supervisor in their day-to-day role and to be able to act as their deputy when the Quality Supervisor is absent or unable to carry out their duties.
* To ensure that internal and external complaints are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
* To collate, trend and present quality matrices.
Additionally, the candidate will:
* Ensuring compliance with BRCGS and ISO9001 International Standards.
* Work collaboratively with the Production Team and Shift Managers to improve Quality performance through positive activity thereby decreasing complaint and suspect frequency and reducing the Cost of Quality.
* Provide trending analysis of Quality matrices to present to colleagues on a regular basis.
* Manage complaints and suspects/CAPA resulting in measurable improvement.
* Manage supplier claims.
* Manage compliance/knife/glass and brittle plastic audits.
* Support the internal auditing system.
* Participate in third party audits.
* Support the Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager.
Who you need to be:
* Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of BRCGS and ISO 9001.
* Problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Strong eye for detail, logical thinking, and assertive character.
* Positive, “can do” attitude.
* Good IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
* Experience in the flexible plastics packaging industry would be advantageous.
