We are seeking a Catering Supervisor to support and lead the front-of-house team in meeting the daily operational needs of the department. This recruitment is a result of business growth and the need to expand the supervisory staff within the Catering and Conference function.

This is a hands-on role, working closely with the catering and conference team to ensure the smooth, efficient, and high-quality delivery of catering and conference services across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the seamless operation of all catering and conference activities, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Duty Manager Shifts:
Undertake Duty Manager shifts to ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered, from guest arrival to departure. Maintain a visible and proactive presence during service hours.

* Team Management:
Support management in planning and organising front-of-house catering staff to ensure all services are covered effectively and efficiently.
Lead, motivate, and manage staff during shifts, addressing any staffing challenges that arise.

* Operational Problem-Solving:
Proactively manage any issues related to staffing, equipment breakdowns, or customer requests, ensuring quick resolutions to maintain service standards.

* Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure exceptional service delivery at all times, maintaining a customer-focused approach across all interactions and services.

* Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance:
Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety in all areas of operation. Follow all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.

* Record Keeping & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and industry best practices, including function sheets, shift logs, and handover documents.

* Training & Leadership:
Lead by example and actively train and support colleagues in your area. Share best practices and develop staff skills to ensure a consistently high standard of service delivery.

Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve operational goals and deliver outstanding service.

* Operational Excellence:
Proven ability to manage operations efficiently, ensuring services are delivered on time and to a high standard.

* Customer-Centric:
A focus on providing a positive and memorable experience for all guests and clients.

* Problem-Solving:
Skilled in managing issues that arise on shift, with a calm and proactive approach to finding solutions.

* Attention to Detail:
Ability to maintain accuracy in records, documentation, and all aspects of service delivery.

* Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to changing demands, priorities, and unforeseen challenges.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a catering or hospitality environment is essential.

* Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of food safety, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.

* Qualifications:

* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Hospitality or Catering (or equivalent).

* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

* Customer Service:
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering high standards of customer service.

Working Conditions:

* Hours:
Full-time, with shifts covering evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

* Physical Requirements:
The role requires standing for long periods and occasionally lifting or moving equipment and supplies
