Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a neuromodulation specialist practitioner post. The post holder will work as part of a highly motivated multi-disciplinary pain and neuromodulation team. Responsibilities will include the care of patients with implanted neuromodulation systems including spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps. The Team has a strong focus on audit, research and education and the post holder will also be regularly involved in these activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The role involves assessment and management of patients undergoing day‑case and inpatient surgery for implantation of spinal cord stimulators for chronic pain and intrathecal pumps for pain or spasticity. You will be expected to support patients throughout the entire pathway: pre‑operative assessment, trial implant, admission, post‑operative outpatient phase and education of ward nursing/therapy staff where appropriate. The post holder will liaise closely with medical staff, nurses and therapists within the hospital setting to provide evidence‑based care to patients in a supportive environment.
