Performance Engineer

£51.30/hr Umbrella Inside IR35
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicants must be flexible as the role involves working on a wide variety of projects within a small multi skilled team.
* Translation of Product objectives into technical Objectives
* Creation of test methodologies to evaluate technical objectives
* Contribution to Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during concept review
* Design Verification Plan Creation and Reporting
* Diesel Engine Performance and Emissions development
* Software feature specification, calibration and verification
* Engine calibration creation
* Mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems
* Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
* Technical reporting
* The role will require collaboration with all platform teams based at the Stafford facility
* Occasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Engineering Degree or other equivalent qualification/experience
* Experienced in engine Performance and Emissions calibration
* Knowledge of emissions measurement techniques, worldwide emission regulations and emissions measurement hardware
* Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, air etc…
* Diesel engine component validation experience
* PC literacy, excellent use of all MS Office components
* High standard of written technical reporting
Desirable:
* Knowledge of hardware matching, fuel system optimisation and control system development
* Knowledge of Products and processes
* Experience of Vector CANape and utilisation for live engine calibration
