We are looking for compassionate Health Care Support Workers to provide flexible support across community nursing, phlebotomy, and community independence services depending on demand.
In this role, you will ensure that patients receive safe, individualized, and effective standards of care by following care plans and treatment interventions as delegated by the registered Nurse or Therapist. You will work with the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of care to patients within their own home environment.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, and you will be expected to work across the Southampton and South West Division.
Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out venipuncture as required by the domiciliary phlebotomy service and delivering samples to the appropriate setting for analysis.
2. Delivering nursing care to patients under indirect supervision, following prescribed care plans and protocols, and reporting any progress or deterioration to the nurse in charge.
3. Dealing empathetically with sensitive information.
4. Safely managing yourself, including lone working in the community, handling body fluids and hazardous materials, patient handling, medical sharps, complex social situations and behaviors, and driving.
