We have an exciting opportunity to join Ourway Care to complete a support team in the Gunnislake area. We a recruiting for a compassionate, energetic and enthusiastic Support Worker for a gentleman with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) living in his family home, with several pet dogs.
You will be supporting him with all aspects of his daily living, including personal care, mobility and household tasks as well as working alongside therapists and implementing his rehabilitation programme, including hydro sessions.
Our client has a passion for all things sport (particularly playing and watching rugby), he loves to be out and about either creating adventures or enjoying coffee and cake. He enjoys cooking, model building and has a devilish sense of humour.
The ideal candidate will be someone who shares similar interests, is enthusiastic about helping others, and is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they support.
Roles Available:
* Part time - 20 hours 2 shifts per week
Shift Pattern:
* Day Shifts: 08:30-18:30
* Additional hours to support overnight respite
* Bank Holidays and weekend work will form part of the rota
Pay Rates:
* £15.00 per hour weekday day rate
* £16.00 per hour weekend day rate
* Double time for Bank Holidays
* Hourly rates are paid £1.00 per hour less during probationary period
Role Responsibilities:
* Providing personal care and medication support
* Supporting with daily living tasks and household duties
* Accompanying the client on outings and occasional trips
Ideal Support Worker:
Essential:
* Over 25 with a full driving licence and confident to drive the clients vehicle
* Fit and active
* Positive attitude with a vibrant personality
* Previous care experience
* Flexible and reliable
* Happy to work in a clients home with several dogs
Preferred:
* Experience in delivering complex community care is desirable

Job Purpose: To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Internal and Management: This role will report to the Registered Manager
Key Duties/Responsibilities of our Support Worker:
Supporting your client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by:
* Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork
* Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice
* Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
* Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish
* Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly
* Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide
* Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
* Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
* Participate in learning and development opportunities as required
