VAT Accountant

Are you a German-speaking Qualified Accountant with expertise in German VAT?
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of German VAT compliance and reporting within a global tech business. You'll work closely with finance colleagues across Europe, ensuring accuracy in tax compliance, providing technical VAT expertise, and supporting ongoing international growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on German VAT compliance and reporting across the business.
* Ensure timely and accurate submission of German VAT returns and filings.
* Act as the subject matter expert on German VAT legislation and requirements.
* Support wider European VAT obligations and cross-border transactions.
* Provide technical VAT advice to finance and commercial teams.
* Assist with audits, statutory reporting, and liaise with external advisors.
* Contribute to process improvements and systems enhancements.
About You
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, Steuerberater, or equivalent).
* Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
* Strong knowledge of German VAT regulations (essential).
* Experience in an international or multi-entity environment (technology sector desirable).
* Detail-focused, analytical, and confident in providing technical advice.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work across cultures and teams.
