A position has arisen in the Community Diagnostic Centre at Westmorland General Hospital for two Clinical Support Workers, Band 3.
Both posts are full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team, providing high-quality, compassionate, patient-focused care within the new community diagnostic centre, based in Outpatients at WGH. The post holder must hold phlebotomy skills to support phlebotomy clinics held at the Community Diagnostic Centre, Westmorland General Hospital, from Monday to Friday.
Phlebotomy skills and competency are essential for these roles to conduct clinics in the CDC.
Working under supervision, you will need to work flexibly within the team to support clinical service delivery within the department.
You must possess excellent communication, IT, and customer care skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of the wider team.
It is desirable to have an NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care.
Previous experience in outpatient services is advantageous but not essential.
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with various community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of general hospital services, including emergency departments, critical/coronary care units, and various consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and supports non-life-threatening conditions such as minor illnesses and broken bones.
All three hospitals offer planned care, including outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day surgeries, and inpatient surgeries. Community outreach services and diagnostics are also provided across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are delivered in homes, community centres, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals, and main hospitals. Our goal is to support individuals in maintaining independence, improving health, and managing conditions through high-quality care, advice, and support.
