What you’ll do on a typical day:
Plan and dispatch routes cost‑effectively, manage live changes, and ensure all traffic administration is completed accurately and professionally
* Liaise with suppliers to optimise hire vehicles/subcontractors, record defects and accidents, and follow procedures for late or failed deliveries
* Meet weekly/monthly KPI and P&L targets while ensuring customer SLAs are achieved, escalations are handled, and high customer service standards are maintained
* Use all required IT systems, communicate effectively with drivers and customers, and ensure full compliance with legislation, Health & Safety, and company values
* Identify improvement opportunities, complete relevant training, undertake ad‑hoc tasks, and handle essential out‑of‑hours calls to keep operations running smoothly
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Hold a CPC qualification with strong knowledge of transport compliance and legislation within operational transport environments
* Experience in supervising or managing a complex transport operation, with proven ability to handle conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced setting
* Demonstrate solid financial awareness including P&L or cost centre management, understanding key operational cost drivers and how to control them
* Possess excellent communication skills, confidence using Microsoft Office, and a proactive, accountable approach to leadership and problem‑solving
