Overview
We are seeking a friendly, dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent service to both our furry clients and their owners. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our kennel facility.
Duties
* Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
* Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all animals.
* Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to the manager as necessary.
* Assist with customer service duties, including greeting pet owners and answering questions about services offered, using the booking system, taking payments.
* Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning equipment as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred.
* Familiarity with customer service principles to effectively communicate with pet owners.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical activity throughout the shift.
* A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is essential.

Personal qualities
You will need to have a genuine passion for animals and be committed to promoting their care and welfare. You should be good at working in a team but equally be able to work well on your own.
You will need to be able to communicate well with both owners, members of the public and your colleagues.
Working conditions
You will be required to undertake regular weekend work and sometimes early mornings and evenings in order to ensure the animals get the best possible care. This is a all year position as we take dogs over the Christmas break.
Full and part-time opportunities are often available. The work is physically demanding and will involve working outside at all times during the year.

Pay: £10.00-£12.50 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
