Our client, a prominent player in the energy, nuclear, and oil & gas sectors, is currently seeking two Fire Watchers to join their team on a fixed-term basis. The role involves providing vigilant surveillance to eliminate or reduce the potential for fires, particularly on projects involving hot work such as welding.
Key Responsibilities:
Watching out for fire hazards in the workplace while hot work is accomplished by other employees
Maintaining conditions and requirements stated on the hot work permit
Keeping flammable materials away from ignition sources
Acting promptly in the event of fire by extinguishing it or activating a fire alarm
Calling the emergency alarm number
Ensuring knowledge of the exact location of firefighting equipment in the immediate area
Maintaining constant means of communication
Keeping visual and voice contact with other employees as much as possible
Inspecting the entire work area for potential risks before and during each shift
Being prepared to operate fire extinguishers if trained to do so
Never leaving the job site while work is being done, or notifying workers to stop the job if a leave is necessary

Educational Background:
UK Accredited Firewatcher Course
ECITB CCNSG 2 Day Safety Passport
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 in Construction Operations - Skilled Worker
Work Schedule:
10 days on, 4 days off
10 hour days
