Role: Teaching Assistant Location: M30 (Salford) Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 4pm) Pay: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour Start Date: September 2025 Duration: Long-term with temp-to-perm opportunity Reeson Education are looking to appoint a committed and confident Teaching Assistant to support a young person with SEMH needs within an alternative provision setting in the M30 area. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, proactive, and skilled at supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour needs - particularly those with a history of trauma or brain injury. This Teaching Assistant position will involve both in-school support and some outreach work in the community, so a driving licence and access to a car is essential. The school is part of a wider SEMH provision and provides a therapeutic, person-centred environment for its pupils. Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs as a Teaching Assistant Help manage challenging behaviour using calm, restorative, and child-led approaches Support daily routines and create structure and consistency for the pupil Deliver tailored interventions and work closely with the wider school team Liaise with families, staff, and external services as needed in your Teaching Assistant role Carry out outreach visits to alternative settings or community spaces to support engagement Help track progress, identify needs, and reflect on support strategies as a Teaching Assistant Build trust and offer emotional support while maintaining strong professional boundaries Promote resilience, confidence, and engagement through consistent and nurturing support Be a reliable, adaptable Teaching Assistant across a varied and flexible roleTeaching Assistant - Requirements: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or Behaviour Mentor Proven ability to work with pupils with SEMH, trauma, and regulation difficulties Calm, emotionally intelligent, and confident under pressure Strong communicator who can work as part of a multi-agency team Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) Available full-time and long-term as a Teaching Assistant Passionate about supporting pupils who need a different kind of approachWhy apply for this Teaching Assistant role?
