Overview

Bid Manager role at Netwerkplan. Location: Home Based. Industry: Hard Facilities Management. Salary: Highly Competitive Salary + Bonus + Mobile + Laptop + Pension + Company Benefits Scheme + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays.

A motivated professional with excellent interpersonal skills and proposals support experience to work with the Bid Management team in putting forward high-quality submissions within the Hard Services sector of Facilities management from start to finish.


Job Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly capable individual to help us in increasing the quality and quantity of bids and to support successful delivery of all tender documentation. This role will require a highly motivated professional with excellent interpersonal and writing skills who will own the bid process from start to finish. This role will suit someone with bid management experience in either Hard Facilities or Mechanical & Electrical services. The successful candidate will either have experience bid management and/or have a number of years experience in a bid writing position.


Key duties

* Provide support within the Bid Team and Project management from pre-qualification stage through to submission.
* Collateral development — writing/editing input from a variety of stakeholders typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, legal and operations.
* Maintain a good working knowledge of the company business practices and standards to ensure an appreciation of the broad scope of knowledge and content required to satisfactorily respond to tenders.
* Involved in peer reviews to ensure the bids are appropriately compelling and commercially attractive.
* Lead on complex proposals.
* Introduce and implement all necessary proposal procedures and processes and ensure governance of them.
* Deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes.
* Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes.
* Assist in analysing the RFP/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the customers issues and needs.
* Build the proposal compliance matrix and track the fulfilment of all requirements.
* Review completed storyboards and proposal sections to ensure requirements are adequately addressed and that customer page limits are not exceeded.
* Develop a team (storyboard review) plan for the interim review and internal evaluation of the technical, management, and overall proposal approaches.
* Conduct regular proposal progress status meetings and maintain the proposal schedule.
* Use experience and creative skills within the tender production process to ensure that the company is perceived as a quality solutions provider and the number one choice for its existing and prospective customers.
* Be able to understand a tender question, and then assemble a structured answer which provides both a technical response written in the context of company strategy, values, and unique selling points.
* Maintain good working relationships across the business. This includes Directors, Business Development Directors and Managers, the Bid Team, operational managers and subject matter experts.
* Take ownership of returns to the appropriate customer portal and ensure documentation is submitted in the required compliant format by the deadline (print, email, MS Office or other customer-specified formats).
* Manage communications with bid materials into customer systems for regionally led bids.
* Develop a plan and provide project coordination to support the nominated Bid Leads in the project management of the tender process, ensuring compliance with the customer’s procurement process and facilitating successful bid completion. This may include matrix management of cross-functional bid teams.
* Organise work to meet deadlines, re-balance workload as priorities change, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
* Have an excellent working knowledge of the company’s current workflow and document production systems (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
* Work with the company’s CRM reporting tool.
* Develop a working knowledge of other systems as required. Be an excellent communicator at all levels and able to work well in a team environment, including engagement with central teams. Be able to think creatively and seek innovative solutions when supporting bids.


Key Skills and Experience


Experience and Knowledge

* Success in writing documentation for successful bids, tenders, proposals or presentations.
* Relevant professional experience in bid writing or highly allied experience.
* Experience in the facilities management industry is highly advantageous; however, all industry experience within the bid writing sector will be considered.
* Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.

* High quality, clear and concise writing style.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Organised and self-motivated to produce high-quality results.
