Job Title: Methods Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer\nJob Location: Southampton\nSalary: £55,0000 (plus shift allowances)\nHours Per Week: 40hrs per week\nDuration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nIndustries / Disciplines Considered: Rolling Stock, Manufacturing, Weld, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Defence\n\nCompany Summary:\nThey are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.\n\nPosition Summary:\nThis role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards. Key responsibilities will include:\n\n* Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM's)\n* Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings\n* Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)\n* Working of layout of workstations and storage areas\n* Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures\n* Continual evaluations of tooling\n* Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems\n* Create lesson plans for Production Team\n* Promote best and safe practice\n* Support audits\n* Make methods and quality improvements\n\nQualifications:\nDegree, HNC or HND (engineering)\n\nFunctional Knowledge:\n* Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication\n* Good HSE knowledge\n* Keen eye for detail\n* Strong communication skills\n* Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)\n\nContact details:\n(url removed)\n(phone number removed)\n\nPLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS AN DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEST BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION (this is standard procedure on Rail depots)\nPlease note due to the volume of applications, we can only commit to contact those candidates we deem suitable for the position.
