Project Manager – Manufacturing & Facilities (UAV / Defence)
Length: this is a 12 month FTC with the ability to potentially go permanent
Location: Cambridge – On Site
Rate: £70-90k pro-rata (Depending on experience)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
The Role:
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the set-up of new manufacturing facilities and production environments supporting advanced drone and UAV programmes. This is a hands-on delivery role within a fast-paced aerospace and defence business, working closely with engineering, operations and senior leadership to bring new production capability online.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver end-to-end manufacturing facility and production line set-ups from concept to operational readiness.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality and facilities.
Manage project plans, budgets, risks and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Oversee factory layouts, equipment installation, commissioning and production ramp-up.
Ensure compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards.
Manage contractors, suppliers and infrastructure partners.
Essential Experience:
8+ years Project management experience within aerospace, defence or advanced manufacturing facilities set up.
Proven delivery of new manufacturing facilities or greenfield production environments.
Strong understanding of production processes and operational scale-up.
Ability to work on-site in Cambridge.
Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
Desirable:
UAV, robotics or aerospace manufacturing programmes.
AS9100 / regulated engineering environments.
APM, PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
Experience in start-up or high-growth technology businesses.
