Salary: GBP 120,000 - GBP 150,000 + comprehensive total reward package

At Another, we are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking group of companies with a vision and an ambitious journey to grow. We are seeking a visionary, commercial, and results-driven current Chief Operating Officer (COO) or CEO who can lead the organisation's business strategy and drive growth initiatives.
As the COO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the operational framework. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring managing directors, acting as the strategic council, whilst ensuring the strategic goals align with our operations and long-term vision. Your leadership will be key in navigating our expansion plans and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s growth objectives.
2. Lead and mentor cross-functional divisional executive teams (MDs) and their leadership teams, promoting a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement, whilst harnessing the company's value-led people culture.
3. Ensure organisational alignment with strategic goals across central functions such as HR, IT, Operations, SHE, and Marketing.
4. Collaborate with the executive team to identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
5. Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
6. Support the MD in translating business strategy into operational plans with clear metrics, timelines, and resource allocations.
7. Work with the CEO and board to develop long-term strategic goals aligned with the company's values.
8. Partner with the CFO to set budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, and continually review them to ensure targets are met.
9. Drive initiatives to optimize costs, maximize performance, and improve resource utilization.
10. Provide a transformational strategic vision that translates into operational objectives.
11. Promote a customer-centric approach throughout the organisation.
12. Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, quality standards, and processes.
13. Proactively integrate key sustainability goals, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering innovation in investments.
14. Support diversification and growth initiatives, including geographic expansion and new product/service development.
15. Promote employee engagement, retention, and leadership succession planning.
16. Monitor and improve operational profitability, cost control, and resource utilization.
17. Drive synergies and efficiencies across divisions to maximize ROI.
18. Oversee risk management strategies and crisis preparedness across operations.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a COO or CEO in a small to medium-sized business, demonstrating performance in vision setting and operational alignment leading to significant growth, ideally in a highly commercial, fast-paced B2B environment.
2. Exceptional coaching and leadership skills to inspire and motivate executive teams, including managing directors.
3. Strong background in strategic planning, financial management, operational management, and business development.
4. A track record of transformational growth with proven experience translating strategic vision into operational objectives, including scalable systems, digital transformation, resources, and processes.
5. Experience in implementing operational and business strategies that support significant company growth.
6. Experience in cross-functional organisational alignment with central functions.
7. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
