Site management is part of a transformational process that has resulted in a 24/7 function, as such you will be rostered to work shifts, rotating across both sites at Preston and Chorley over a 24 hour period.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the overall running of the hospital sites over a 24 hour period forming the first point of escalation across the hospitals at all times in order to support patient flow and quality of care across the organisation.
You will be responsible for the overall allocation of staffing overnight across both sites and will be first point of escalation.
You will act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and organisation. You will also be required to develop good working relationships with staff at all levels across the organisation ensuring the effective utilisation of available bed-stock whilst ensuring that the clear principles outlined in the policies are adhered to in a manner that ensures consistency and improve the patient experience whilst meeting demands within the national standards.
You will rotate between day and night duty at Preston and Chorley in order to remain aware of all areas of operational management and flow, although flexible working would be considered. You will also work as an effective member of the multi-professional team to ensure that effective patient flow across the organisation is achieved.

Experience of patient flow is essential.
You will support the Clinical Business Manager and Trust Operational Officers for Patient Flow in the operational management of patient flow, responsible for ensuring that the right patients in the right place at the right time, maintaining performance, patient safety and quality standards and proactively supporting the safe and timely admission and discharge of patients.
This role is complex and challenging with competing priorities and regular variations driven by the changing levels of demand, escalation and areas of risk across the hospitals.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
1. Appropriate Professional Registration (NMC)
2. Degree in Nursing (or significant experience with supporting portfolio of evidence)
3. Evidence of continuous professional development or development in areas of speciality
Desirable criteria
4. AIMS Course
5. ALS Provider
6. Management qualification
7. Fire Marshall Training
8. Verification of expected death for nurses
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
9. Substantial post registration experience within an acute hospital Trust
10. Substantial experience at band 6 level
11. Substantial experience working in patient flow/Bed Management
12. Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge
13. Effective communicator able to communicate complex and sensitive information
14. Evidence of relevant involvement in meeting the Trust clinical governance objectives
15. Emergency Clinical Quality Standards
16. Understanding of implications of National Targets, in particular four-hour Emergency Department Standard and relevant bed management
17. Understanding of issues and complexities around patient flow
