Legal Clerk - Practice Management. Permanent, full-time role based in Birmingham City Council's legal service. Working 36.5 hours per week. Grade 2 – £24,796 – £26,824; Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
Birmingham City Council's legal service is a large in-house team delivering a wide range of work from employment to property, social care to contracts. The role sits within the Practice Management team and provides essential legal administrative support to Fee Earners and practice management officers in Legal Services.
Key responsibilities
* Using the case management system to produce correspondence, forms, court documents, maps and plans, and other documentation as required by the team
* Producing accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date legal documentation and court bundles, under direction, to tight deadlines
* Opening new legal case files using the case management system, setting up initial documentation and completing acknowledgments
* Closing files on the case management system, preparing paper files for off-site storage, and updating team spreadsheets with case outcomes
* Operating legal procedures including authentication and sealing of documents, producing case management reports, and assisting with routine processes such as processing invoices
