Rebellion offers a Senior Animation Programmer role to support multiple projects using our proprietary engine, Asura. The position provides flexibility, relocation support, and collaboration with our world‑class team across Oxford, Warwick, and Runcorn.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement animation code in our in‑house engine.
* Maintain and expand features in the animation system, covering content creation tools and runtime systems.
* Collaborate with content creators to design and build tools and features.
* Write and test large, complex classes and code for project(s).
* Fix complex bugs in both familiar and unfamiliar code.
* Create, review, and update technical and user documentation.
* Support team members or programmers from other disciplines as necessary.
Requirements
* Strong understanding of the architecture and internal workings of real‑time animation systems.
* High proficiency in C++, with experience developing and maintaining complex systems.
* Confident using IDEs, debugging tools, and profiling techniques to diagnose and resolve issues.
* Experience designing and implementing finite state machines and related animation control systems.
* Good working knowledge of 3D mathematics and geometry.

Location and Remote Working
The role can be based at any of our studios in Oxford, Warwick or Runcorn. Rebellion offers a relocation package including moving assistance, temporary accommodation and full support to ensure a smooth transition. Flexibility is valued; we support hybrid arrangements based on individual needs.
