Are you passionate about media and graphic design? Do you want to use your skills to inspire and support learners in a unique and rewarding environment? We are looking for a Media and Graphics Tutor to deliver NCFE Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications to a small group of up to 12 learners within a secure setting. Using high-spec PCs and industry-relevant software, you’ll help learners develop essential digital and creative skills that support both rehabilitation and employability. This is a full-time, permanent role working 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with Thursday afternoons off. What You’ll Do: Deliver engaging lessons in media production and graphic design, equipping learners with practical, industry-relevant skills. Foster a rehabilitative and inclusive learning environment, integrating restorative practices and adaptive teaching techniques. Promote reading for pleasure to enhance literacy and media literacy. Develop and manage individual learning plans (ILPs), ensuring learners receive tailored support. Champion media projects within the prison, encouraging creative expression and showcasing learner work. Collaborate with Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) and Careers Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) staff to align learning with future career opportunities. Maintain health, safety, and security protocols, ensuring responsible use of equipment and software. What You’ll Need: Level 3 qualification in Media, Graphic Design, or a related field. A recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent). Strong communication skills and a passion for supporting learners from diverse backgrounds. Experience using industry-standard media and graphic design software. A commitment to rehabilitation, employability, and digital literacy. Desirable: A Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS) or willingness to work towards one.
