Care Support Worker
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Contract: Bank
Shifts: – hour shifts covering days and nights Monday – Sunday.
Hourly Rate: £ per hour plus holiday pay
Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant or Support Worker with a desire to provide exceptional patient care in a hospital setting? Would you like to develop your career your way?
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our surgical inpatients team. As a Care Support Worker, you will monitor patients’ conditions pre and post surgery, escalating to the nursing staff where necessary.
You will be a strong and motivated individual who is absolutely patient focused, with a desire and proven ability to deliver healthcare at its best.
This role is suitable for anyone has previously worked in a health care environment as a Care Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, Imaging Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not essential.
Role Responsibilities
As a Care Support Worker you will:
1. Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions
2. Monitor patient’s observations in line with national standards throughout a patient admission
3. Chaperone patients when required
4. Willing to undertake phlebotomy when appropriately trained
5. Ensure that your own professional development is maintained and enhanced
Person Specification
Essential
6. Have a good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills
7. Have proven communication skills
8. Demonstrate basic IT skills
9. Have experience working in the Care Sector as either a Care Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Support Worker
Desirable
10. Hold and NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
11. Have experience working as a Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker or Care Support Worker in an acute healthcare setting
12. Have experience undertaking ECG’s
13. Have Phlebotomy experience
