Location: Various locations across Leicester City
Salary: £26,448 – £28,868 per year (pro‑rata for part‑time, term‑time hours). Career progression up to £30,168.
Contract: Permanent part‑time, 20 hours per week (at least 5)
Position: English teacher delivering face‑to‑face and online English Functional Skills courses for adult learners.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver both face‑to‑face and online English Functional Skills courses to adult learners, using engaging resources and teaching methods that encourage active learning.
* Maximise attendance, retention and achievement; monitor learning to ensure outcomes and success rates are achieved.
* Confidently use technology such as Google Classroom, Google Meet and other applications.
* Attend regular meetings, CPD sessions, enrolment sessions and assist in exams.
* Travel to settings and schools across the city and teach online as part of a blended learning approach; be available outside normal office hours, including evenings.
* Provide a successful Enhanced DBS check.
Qualifications
* Subject‑specific qualification at an appropriate level.
* Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above.
* Teaching qualification at Level 5 or willingness to work towards it.
* Minimum GCSE A to C or equivalent English qualification.
