Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist – Gynaecology (Post-Menopausal Bleeding Pathway)

Health Now is recruiting on behalf of a NHS Trust in Essex for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to support the Gynaecology and Gynaecology Oncology services under our insourcing contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 7 (or experienced Band 6 ready to step up) to work autonomously within the Post-Menopausal Bleeding (PMB) pathway, helping the Trust deliver the Faster Diagnostic Standard and ensure patients receive outcomes within 28 days of referral.
The Role
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering safe, effective and timely care for adults referred via the Post-Menopausal Bleeding pathway, across both Gynaecology and Gynaecology Oncology services.
This is a highly autonomous specialist role involving:
Triage of PMB referrals
Running nurse-led triage, follow-up and results clinics
Participating in outpatient clinics
Supporting delivery of the Faster Diagnostic Standard (28-day cancer pathway)
Monitoring investigation results and coordinating care
Providing specialist advice to patients and primary care colleagues
Attending and contributing to MDT meetings
Supporting service development, audits and governance
You will also play a key role in:
Developing clinical guidelines, SOPs and patient information
Supporting ward teams and other clinical areas with expert gynaecology advice
Participating in audit, Datix reviews and quality improvement initiatives
Maintaining accurate documentation in line with NMC and Trust standards
Essential Requirements
Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
Minimum 3 years’ experience at Band 6 level or above
Significant experience within Gynaecology services
Experience working within Hysteroscopy services
Experience managing patients with complex needs
Ability to work autonomously and run nurse-led clinics
Strong knowledge of Faster Diagnostic Standards and national drivers in Gynaecology
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
MSc in Advanced Practice (or working towards)
Non-Medical Prescriber qualification
Previous Clinical Nurse Specialist experience
Experience in guideline and patient literature development
Audit and research involvement
Key Skills
Advanced communication skills (including complex or sensitive discussions)
Strong clinical assessment and examination skills
Ability to interpret investigation results and plan care accordingly
Excellent organisational and workload management skills
Understanding of clinical governance and risk management
