Sub Agent – HS2 Location: HS2 (site-based) - Buckinghamshire Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 Car Allowance Lodging Bonus Healthcare Carmichael UK are working with an earthworks contractor delivering works on HS2 and have an urgent requirement for experienced Sub Agents to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects. We are looking for individuals who can take ownership of a section of works, managing both engineering delivery and commercial aspects while leading site teams to successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Oversee delivery of earthworks / civil engineering packages on site Manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high standards of performance Plan and coordinate works, including short and medium-term programming Review drawings, specifications, and works information to determine best construction methods Ensure all quality assurance processes, ITPs, and documentation are in place and adhered to Produce RAMS and key project documentation Carry out site-based engineering activities including setting out and surveying where required Identify and manage commercial events, working closely with the commercial team Support planning, constructability reviews, and sequencing of works Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld at all times Requirements Strong experience operating at Agent or Sub Agent level within civil engineering projects Background in earthworks, heavy civils, or major infrastructure projects (HS2 experience beneficial) Proven experience managing teams and delivering site-based engineering functions Good commercial awareness, including change management and reporting Ability to undertake planning, constructability, and coordination activities Eligible for ICE membership or working towards chartership preferred Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer Competitive salary package (£50k–£60k) Car allowance Lodging / accommodation support Bonus scheme Private healthcare Long-term opportunity on a flagship UK infrastructure project
