Hazel Ward PICU is a dedicated Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit consisting of 10 intensive care beds for male service users of working age across the Hampshire area. We are a multi award-winning team dedicated to caring for service users in the least restrictive way possible. We are proud winners of the Reducing Restrictive Practice, Quality Improvement Star Award in 2020 & the 'Peoples choice' award for Patient Safety in 2021. We aim to provide forward thinking services to people with a wide range of mental health needs, all of whom are detained under the Mental Health Act. Our emphasis is on providing the service user with safe, person-centred care and treatment to manage their complex and longer-term needs within a safe and secure environment.

As a Staff Nurse you will use your skills to work directly with service users by creating collaborative care plans and delivering these, contribute to Quality Improvement and service development, advocating for service users, engaging with their carers, and be an influential member of the ward team dedicated to multidisciplinary team working. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to:
*Partake in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.
*Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
*Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
*Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.
*Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
*Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
*Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
