Overview
A dynamic, private-equity-backed leader in the pumps and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) sector is seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive national commercial growth. With an ambitious expansion strategy and a strong technical heritage, the business is scaling rapidly across key industrial markets and investing heavily in both talent and infrastructure.
This is a pivotal appointment, offering the opportunity to lead a high-performing sales team, shape commercial strategy, and position the business as the partner of choice for critical rotating equipment solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with the business’s rapid growth objectives and PE-led value creation plan.
* Lead, coach and mentor regional sales teams (15+ Sales Team) to exceed revenue and margin targets.
* Identify and pursue new market segments, major accounts, and strategic partnerships across industrial and utilities sectors.
* Drive cross-selling opportunities within the company’s wider engineering and service offerings.
* Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering and Finance to ensure commercial bids, tenders, and contracts align with profitability targets.
* Introduce and embed sales performance metrics, CRM governance, and data-led decision making.
* Represent the business with key clients, industry bodies, and at sector events to enhance brand visibility and market presence.
* Report commercial performance to the Board and PE stakeholders, providing clear insight into pipeline development and growth levers.
Candidate Profile
* Proven success in leading national or regional sales functions within a technical engineering, pumps, or MRO services environment.
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
* Demonstrated strategic thinking combined with hands-on leadership and team-building ability.
* Experienced in working within a fast-paced, private-equity or growth-oriented business.
* Deep understanding of industrial markets, including water, energy, manufacturing, and process industries.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Willingness to travel nationally to support teams and engage with key clients.
