Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated person to join the Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme as a Retinal Screening Photographer. The successful applicant will work with the Diabetic Eye screening team and be responsible for providing visual acuity examinations and digital photography during diabetic eye screening clinics.
The successful applicant will be given full in house training to ensure they are competent to administer patient eye drops and perform a visual acuity test in preparing the patient for digital photography. Excellent patient management during clinics is essential to ensure a timely screening process.
The successful candidate must hold a current and full driving license and will be expected to undertake a trust driving assessment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to work towards and complete a Health Screener Diploma in Retinal Screening.
The post holder will be supported to complete training requirements and the NHS Screener diploma with an allocated mentor/Assessor.
The 4 mandatory units of the Health Screener Diploma are to be completed within 4 months of appointment to work independently, with the remainder of the qualification to be completed within 2 years of appointment to post.

Education/ Qualifications
* GCSE level grades A-C in Maths and English Language or equivalent
* Diabetic Eye Screening Qualification or working towards
