About the Role
The Health and Safety Business Partner ensures that we provide a safe and healthy workplace and sustainable performance through the consistent delivery of health, safety and wellbeing practices in our homes.
Through effective stakeholder engagement, building capability and empowering local leadership, specialist advice, and coaching, this role is a true partner for our frontline leaders.
Responsibilities:
Apply specialist knowledge and technical expertise to:
* Provide quality proactive advice and support to Operational leaders and employees on a range of HSW issues.
* Analyse and report on workplace incidents, hazards and injuries as well as trends in their area of responsibility.
* Provide strategic advice and direction on complex claims and safety matters.
* Ensure all incidents are investigated promptly & effectively and ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented.
* Ensure notifiable incidents are reported to the state Regulator and internally as required.
* Support the Injury management specialist with early intervention of injuries.
* Collaborate with the National Health and Safety Manager and HSW team to develop and implement evidence-based risk reduction and improvement programs.
* Foster a safety culture through role modelling safe workplace practices, such as consultation and identification of workplace hazards and risks.
The ideal person will have:
* Experience in an WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role, with a proven track record in delivering effective HSW performance results.
* A customer service approach, strong analytical and problem solving skills and will be proactive.
* Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Demonstrated ability to engage with external and internal stakeholders.
* High level planning, time management and prioritising skills.
* Demonstrated capability in interpreting and applying relevant WHS and workers compensation legislation.
The role is hybrid with regular travel, around three days per week, to our Melbourne Metro and West homes, plus Albury and Wodonga.
