An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the management team at Toy Box nursery, Scunthorpe. We are currently extending our baby room to accommodate 10 extra babies. The post would involve being involved in the set up of this new room.
5 years childcare experience at level 3 or above as an early years educator is crucial for this post.
To ensure a high standard of care and development for the children.
To give support to other staff within the nursery.
Assist the manager as necessary in providing effective day to day management of the nursery.
As training officer plan and book the continuous professional development (CPD) for all staff. Source suitable courses.
To manage office duties as required, including staffing rota to ensure correct ratio to staff is always met.
Assist the manager in promoting equal opportunities throughout the nursery.
Work alongside the parents/ carers of children to achieve good communication and partnerships within the nursery.
Organise bi-monthly staff meetings and take and prepare minutes.
To care for the children within the nursery, maintaining a safe and stimulating environment.
Manage the administrative working of famly checking observations and monthly management of keyperson tracking. Allocate children to a key person, assist parents in accessing famly.
To be responsible for the smooth running of which ever room appointed to and managing any other junior staff.
To be enthusiastic, self-motivated and use initiative.
To have a good understanding of child protection, child development and the E.Y.F.S.
To welcome the children on arrival.
To maintain good communication with parents and carers.
To assist with coats and self-organisation.
To move to another group or area as and when asked.
To provide help to individual children as required.
To assist with nappy changing/ toileting as required.
To assist in clearing away and the storage of equipment.
Maintain the policies and procedures for the setting.
To help with the supervision of lunch time arrangements.
In terms of dress, behaviour and language to make yourself presentable and wear the required uniform.
To help with the cleaning of the premises as required.
To assist with planning and delivering activities, which provide a variety of experiences.
To ensure the children are supervised during indoor and outdoor activities.
To prepare and provide varied and nutritious snacks (remembering food safety).
To monitor and conduct safety checks.
To provide first aid when necessary.
To undertake other duties as may become necessary and agreed with the manager.
To undertake any relevant training.
Responsible for health and safety within the setting which includes risk assessments. Being the designated fire officer. Ensure the fire drill and checks are followed in accordance with policy.
Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained always.
