The primary purpose of the post is to provide comprehensive and confidential administrative support to functions within Research and Innovation, including:

* Supporting research study set-up and delivery
* Supporting events management
* Monitoring finance, rostering, and training systems
* Handling general administrative and secretarial tasks

This role will be based across the three primary R&I locations: Rico House (Prestwich), Harrop House (Prestwich), and Rawnsley Building (Oxford Road Campus).

The post involves the use of IT skills (MS Office 365), including the maintenance of databases, proficiency with Word, Excel, and Windows features, use of email (Outlook), the internet, and the Trust electronic patient records system (PARIS).

Fixed Term Contract or Secondment. Up to [number] hours per week (Part Time considered). 6 months in the first instance.


Main duties of the job

1. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of individuals and groups including researchers, professionals, service users, and managers.
2. Provide up-to-date research information to Directorates and Service Leads.
3. Liaise with services across the Trust to support understanding of research recruitment and data provision.
4. Communicate with patients/service users sensitively as required.
5. Coordinate with research networks regarding recruitment data and targets.
6. Collaborate with the Clinical Research Delivery team and the Research Office.
7. Manage upload of recruitment data to CPMS and LPMS databases.
8. Respond to queries from service users involved in research studies.
9. Assist in the production of R&I publications to promote research.
10. Organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and training events, including venue and catering arrangements.
11. Coordinate bookings and registration processes for events.
12. Attend and service research events.
13. Assist in conducting audits and surveys as required.

* Pay enhancements – 30% additional for evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays; 60% additional for Sundays and bank holidays.

Person specification


Education/Qualifications

* Recognised competency-based Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (NVQ, RSA), or equivalent experience.
* GCSE/O Level standard or equivalent, including English Language.
* Recognised IT qualification (ECDL, RSA, CLAIT, etc).
* Administrative qualification/training/experience (RSA III, NVQ in Business Administration, etc).


Experience

* Experience of planning and completing work efficiently to meet deadlines.
* Experience with Microsoft Office and file management.
* Experience of minute taking.
* Experience working within a mental health setting.


Knowledge

* Knowledge of research governance, data protection, confidentiality policies.
* Understanding of confidentiality and research recruitment processes.
* Knowledge of procurement procedures.


Skills

* Ability to use own initiative.
* Ability to maintain concentration amid interruptions.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.


Other

* Ability to travel to various Trust sites and within the North West area.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Occasional work outside normal hours may be required.
