Role Purpose
Electrical Design Engineer – Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick.
Accountable for designing low‑voltage electrical distribution systems and creating all necessary documentation across heavy industrial projects. The role supports projects across England and Scotland, with a focus on project cost effectiveness, safety, and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Design LV electrical distribution systems.
* Create specifications, datasheets, cable calculations and schedules.
* Produce drawings in collaboration with the CAD team.
* Review manufacturer documentation for compliance with project specifications.
* Develop and maintain relationships with technical consultants and suppliers.
Qualifications
* Proficiency with Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign.
* Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across design and project teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for all levels.
* Knowledge of relevant UK codes of practice and regulatory material.
* Experience in Petrochemical, Power Generation, Renewables or Nuclear environments.
* Holding full UK work rights and eligibility for SC level Security Clearance.
Beneficial Experience
* Design of HV electrical systems.
* Use of AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, SKM, ETAP, Digsilent and PSCAD.
* Experience with ATEX systems.
