COUNTRY HOUSE ASSISTANT MANAGER
Location: Harrington House, Sherborne Street, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, GL54 2BY
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £29,484 per annum
Reporting to: House Manager
Live In: Accommodation available including all bills, 3 meals per day, laundry & free Wi-Fi

About the role:
Located in a stunning area of natural beauty, Harrington House features 29 elegantly appointed bedrooms, offering a peaceful retreat for up to 47 guests on guided or self-guided tours. As the Country House Assistant Manager, you will support the House Manager in delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring the smooth operation of the house. Your responsibilities include:
1. Guest Service Excellence: Engage with guests warmly, monitor service quality, and uphold our standards of excellence.
2. Front of House Management: Lead the front of house team, maintaining high standards in bedrooms and public areas.
3. Property Maintenance and Appearance: Assist in addressing repairs and defects, and maintain the grounds and overall aesthetics.
4. Team Development & Culture: Foster a supportive and harmonious team environment, considering many staff live on-site.
5. Centralized Support: Coordinate with HR for recruitment, performance, and conduct; work with operations on health & safety, purchasing, and stock control.
The role involves deputising for the House Manager during days off and holidays, requiring leadership, warmth, and excellence in all aspects of house management.
What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have:
* Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry, such as assistant hotel or country house managers with successful operational backgrounds.
* Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
